On the 10-year anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, people around the world publicly aired their grievances against members of former President George W. Bush's administration .
Gawker played a controversial and direct role in the process, publishing Bush's personal email address -- pulled from a screengrab of a hacked email between Bush and his sister released last month -- in a Tuesday post titled "Wish George W. Bush a Happy Iraq War Day."
An open letter written to Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney by a dying veteran, Tomas Young, accuses the men of cowardice and criminal behavior. "You may evade justice but in our eyes you are each guilty of egregious war crimes, of plunder and, finally, of murder, including the murder of thousands of young Americans -- my fellow veterans -- whose future you stole," he wrote in a missive that has gone viral. "Your positions of authority, your millions of dollars of personal wealth, your public relations consultants, your privilege and your power cannot mask the hollowness of your character."
Bush's defense secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, fared no better, receiving resoundingly negative responses to a tweet commemorating the 10th anniversary of an engagement that he once predicted would “last six days, six weeks, I doubt six months.”
Reactions ranged from calling Rumsfeld a "blood-gargling psychopath" to a "war criminal," though there were some more appreciative responses sprinkled in.
Later that night, documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, never a fan of the Bush administration, took to CNN to repeat the "war criminal" allegation and suggest that the key players in the Iraq War deserved jail time.
“I don’t understand why he, Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz are still walking the streets,” Moore said. “The whole way they are trying to revise history now is by saying, ‘Well, it was a mistake,’ or, ‘We were given bad information.’”

All of this came after Tomas Young, a dying Iraq veteran who has said that he plans to end his life in April, penned a letter to Bush and Cheney, blasting their roles in building up the war in Iraq. It quickly went viral.
