“Dawson’s Creek” actress Busy Philipps revealed Thursday that she was raped as a teenager.

“This is me at 14. The age I was raped. It’s taken me 25 years to say those words,” Philipps wrote on Instagram. “I wrote about it in my book. I finally told my parents and sister about it 4 months ago. Today is the day we are silent no more.”

Philipps posted her story on Instagram at the same time Christine Blasey Ford was telling members of the Senate Judiciary Committee of being sexually assaulted by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh when they were high school students.

Philipps said she had stayed silent about being raped for 25 years. The actress wrote that she couldn’t imagine what Blasey was feeling during her public testimony.

Philipps did not go into detail about her assault, but said that she wrote about it in her upcoming book, This Will Only Hurt A Little, slated to be published in October.

Philipps is one of many women who have offered support to Blasey as she faces questioning by senators and a Republican-hired sex crimes prosecutor on national television Thursday. Blasey accused Kavanaugh of pining her down, groping her, and trying to remove her clothing more than 35 years ago.

Blasey has been criticized for not reporting the alleged attack at the time.

Many women have spoken about their own reluctance to report sexual assaults, including “Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi. Lakshmi revealed in a New York Times essay published Tuesday that she was raped as a teenager and didn’t report it.
