Buddy Valastro came up with a particularly destructive way to dispatch with the losing cakes in this week's "Cake Boss: Next Great Baker" (Monday, 9PM EST on TLC) challenge. He called out his co-workers Joey and Franky, who emerged from backstage with a chainsaw and sledgehammer, ready to destroy the cakes contestants had just spent hours baking.
The contestants looked on in anguish as the chainsaw neared their creations. "It's sad because it goes right through the carousel that I just spent so much time on trying to make it spin," Marissa said, after watching her team's Carnival Cake split in half and then smashed into pieces.
Valastro, on the other hand, was elated. "That's a losing cake!" he yelled in glee. Next up for execution was Ryan, Megan and Heather G.'s DJ Cake, which got decapitated by the chainsaw after Valastro gave it a thumbs down. The team was devastated.
Only one team's cake was spared from the carnage when Valastro announced the winners. "Chad, Nadine, Melo, congratulations, you guys won."
