Catelynn Lowell Prepared To Adopt Younger Brother If Mom Doesn't Stay Sober

'Teen Mom' Prepared To Adopt Younger Brother

"Teen Mom" Catelynn Lowell is prepared to adopt her 6-year-old brother, Nick, if their mother does not stay sober.

When Lowell, 20, was growing up, she remembers taking care of her inebriated mother, April Baltierra, when she was unable to care for herself.

"I would put pillows underneath her [head] while she was passed out on the table," Lowell told Radar Online. "I pretty much saw my mom drunk almost every day. I had to grow up really fast."

Although Baltierra is reportedly sober, and has been since September 2011, Lowell is ready to intervene if her mother does relapse. Nick's biological father is reportedly an out-of-the-picture, drug addict dad.

"If my mom derails again, I will step in and adopt my brother," Lowell said.

Tyler Baltierra (he and Lowell's mother share the same last name, as his father married April after the teen couple started dating), Lowell's fiance and the father of the child the couple heartbreakingly gave up for adoption in the 2009 season of "Teen Mom," is on board with Lowell's decision to intervene and would become a father-figure for Nick if necessary.

But Baltierra insists that she has her addictions under control and a custody intervention will not be needed.

Earlier this year, In Touch magazine ran with a cover story that Lowell was expecting again, although the reality star has since slammed the rumors: "Don't believe everything you read, I'm definitely not pregnant!"
