On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress adopted the official flag of the United States, but it wasn't until 1949 that congress passed an act establishing a National Flag Day. So as far as holidays goes, this one is pretty young. But that doesn't mean we're not celebrating the dickens out of it.
