NBC released its 2011-2012 primetime schedule on Sunday, featuring six new dramas and six new comedies. Among the shows set to air in the Fall is Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice."
Does this signal the end of Trump's 2012 presidential ambitions?
When questioned by the Associated Press, NBC President Robert Greenblatt wouldn't reveal whether he had any inside info:
Asked if that meant NBC had a commitment from host Donald Trump that he wouldn't run for president, Greenblatt said, "We're putting a pin in that for the next 24 hours or so. Things will become clearer soon."
Meanwhile, Greenplatt told The Hollywood Reporter that "Celebrity Apprentice" could go on even without Trump:
"It's such a strong franchise, not to minimize his presence in it because we love him," said Greenblatt. "But I really do think it's all about the casting of that show and the challenges and if he's not available to us, we're going to have someone really interesting sitting at the head of that boardroom."
Trump, however, hasn't shown any sign that he's lost interest in the presidential race. On Saturday, following Mike Huckabee's announcement that he wasn't running, Trump sounded like he was in "candidate" mode when he said to "Fox News", "This might be considered by some people -- not necessarily me -- bad news because he is a terrific guy and frankly I think he'd be a terrific president. But a lot of people are very happy that he will not be running, especially the other candidates."
