Charlie Gibson's "World News" & ABC News Career Remembered (VIDEO)

Charlie Gibson, who retires tonight from ABC's "World News" after 34 years with the network, has spent this week looking back on his ABC career.

Thursday night at New York's Lincoln Center, Gibson was toasted by friends, family, and colleagues in a sendoff honoring what Disney-ABC Television President Anne Sweeney called his "remarkable career."

"It has been an honor to work with all of you, truly an honor," Gibson told guests. "I have loved every damn day of it. Thank you."
