Chelsea Clinton Discusses The Challenges Of Being A Breastfeeding, Working Mom

"It's swallowing my pride and being comfortable with pumping in airport bathrooms."

Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, opened up about the challenges she faced while juggling breastfeeding and going back to work after giving birth to her daughter, Charlotte Mezvinsky.

"I think the one thing that I did find challenging was when I went back to work full-time," Clinton told E! News when asked what she's learned in her first year of being a new mom. "I still was breastfeeding and I was pumping and I was so committed to insuring I could keep doing that for Charlotte, and balancing those logistics was really hard."

"I figured it out, but it took a while to figure it out," she said.

"It also just took lots of, like ... it's swallowing my pride and being comfortable with pumping in airport bathrooms and kind of wherever I needed to get it done," Clinton admitted.

In August 2014, Clinton left her six-figure salary at NBC News as a special correspondent to focus on philanthropic work at the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation.

Clinton and husband Marc Mezvinsky celebrated their daughter Charlotte's first birthday over the weekend with "lots of balloons ... lots of bubbles and lots of books."
