CNN Debuts 'New Day' Teaser (VIDEO)

WATCH: CNN Debuts New Morning Show Teaser

CNN debuted a teaser for its upcoming morning show "New Day" on Thursday.

The network announced that the new program would premiere in June and be hosted by Chris Cuomo and Kate Bolduan. The show will air from 6-9:00 a.m., the same time as MSNBC's "Morning Joe" and Fox News' "Fox & Friends."

The 30-second spot shows alarm clocks buzzing at 6:00 a.m., a person brushing their teeth, turning on the shower and then making a pot of coffee, while Kate Miller-Heidke's song "Are You Ready?" plays in the background. "There's a whole new way to start your day. Something new is brewing," appears on screen, right before the logo.

The use of the coffee pot with the line "something new is brewing" could be a reference to (and possible jab at) MSNBC's "Morning Joe," which uses the line "brewed by Starbucks." On "Morning Joe," hosts and guests sip from Starbucks cups and the partnership has become so well-known that the program even has its own brand of packaged coffee available for purchase in Starbucks stores.

Because "Fox & Friends" dominates the cable news morning show ratings, CNN and MSNBC have always been in a race for second. However, MSNBC has been consistently beating CNN in the ratings for years. When Jeff Zucker took over as CNN's president in January, he implemented multiple changes across the network's line-up, with a particular focus on the morning show. Zucker is the executive producer responsible for turning NBC's "Today" show into the number one morning show, a position it held for 16 years.
