Colbert Mocks GOP Candidates For Comparing Gays To Alcoholics, Short People (VIDEO)

Stephen Colbert returned to the "Report" last night and got right down to business talking about the midterm elections, focusing on what some Conservative candidates have been saying about homosexuality on the campaign trail.

Massachusetts Republican Sean Bielat, who is challenging 15-year Democratic congressman Barney Frank in that state, recently compared homosexuals to short people while arguing for Don't Ask Don't Tell. He asked why gays protest DADT but "where are the short guys standing in front of the White House?" because people under 5'2" are not allowed to serve either. Colbert completely understood the analogy:

"Being gay is just like being short," Colbert said. "Both are choices, and both can be cured."

Colbert also mocked Colorado Republican Senatorial candidate Ken Buck, who recently said on "Meet The Press" that being gay may be genetically inclined but that "basically you have a choice," similar to alcoholism. Again, Colbert agreed:

"Yes, being gay is like alcoholism," Colbert said. "Too much and you have a problem."
