Three Colorado State football players have been accused of severely beating four freshman students after a party on Friday night in Fort Collins, Co. Although no criminal charges have been filed, Rams head coach Jim McElwain announced on Saturday that those players -- linebacker Mike Orakpo (younger brother of Redskins star Brian Orakpo) and defensive ends Nordly Capi and Colton Paulhaus -- have been suspended indefinitely.
"Know this, that the harshest form that we could do is to indefinitely suspend until all the facts are out there," McElwain told reporters on Monday. "This is unacceptable in this program, it's unacceptable to this university, and until we get all the facts, we're totally cooperating in every way, shape or form that we can, so we get what really is out."
Two of the victims, 19-year-old John ‘JD’ Haley and 20-year-old Donny Gocha, described the incident to Coloradoan.com, claiming that they were walking home from a party as the football players drove by in an SUV yelling at them.
"They were just yelling out obscenities," Gocha said. Gocha yelled something back, causing the SUV to stop and the football players allegedly got out and attacked the players.
"You could just tell they were looking for a fight," Haley said. "They just started beating the back of Donny's head in... We were all scared for his life. It froze me. You can't really put into words how disturbing it was."
