Connie Britton wants to trade her cowboy hat for a witch's hat. The "Nashville" star said she wants to make her way down to New Orleans to guest on "American Horror Story: Coven."

In an interview with Rolling Stone Britton talked about the current season of "Nashville," the status of the "Friday Night Lights" movie, and voiced her desire to return to "American Horror Story." About that possibility, Britton said: "I hope so. I've actually have been talking to them this season, because they're down in New Orleans and I'm in Nashville. I said, 'Okay, let's see if we can try to figure this out.'"

Britton is one of the few original cast members from the first season of "American Horror Story" to not return for at least a guest appearance in the following seasons, "Asylum" and "Coven," but she's hoping to rectify that. Britton, who was nominated for an Emmy for her role on "American Horror Story" is currently starring as Rayna James on "Nashville," but told Rolling Stone: "As long as we can figure it out with both productions, I'm in. I hope it happens."

"American Horror Story: Coven" is on FX, and "Nashville" on ABC, both air Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET.
