A few weeks ago, I wrote about the impending demise of several Coney Island structures, including the abandoned Coney Island Bank (interior pictures here). While I love the building, I can understand how some might have trouble imagining what could be done to rejuvenate it...

On Thursday, the Save Coney Island project released this imaginative rendering by volunteer architects as one way the building could be restored and transformed - in this case, into a Bowery Ballroom-like music/event hall. It's not so much a proposal as a source of inspiration.

There is priceless value to be had in restoring the building. There is everything to lose in tearing it down.

I might be wrong, but I believe the email addresses over at Thor Equities (owners of the property) are the person's first initial, followed by their last name @thorequities.com. If you'd like to send CEO Joseph Sitt your thoughts, I'm sure he wouldn't mind. Don't be rude though!
