Couple Robbed Of Wedding Savings One Week Before The Big Day

One Little Mistake Caused A Major Wedding Setback For This Couple

One Los Angeles couple suffered a major setback just a week before their wedding day.

According to KTLA, the $6,000 in cash Ray De Santiago and his fiancée Christina Scheuplein had set aside to pay their wedding vendors was stolen from their home last weekend.

“When I came home, the house was ransacked,” De Santiago told KTLA. “I immediately called the police. It took them literally an hour to get here because apparently 10 other homes got hit in the area as well.”

Bride-to-be Scheuplein accidentally left a bathroom window open, where at least one intruder entered while the couple was out. To make matters worse, De Santiago lost his job in February so money was already tight.

Fortunately, there's a happy ending to this story. Cameron Scheuplein -- Christina’s uncle and De Santiago's best man -- set up a GoFundMe page for the couple. As of Tuesday morning, they had already exceeded their $6,000 goal. You can head over to GoFundMe to make a donation to the bride and groom-to-be.
