'Criminal Minds' Season 9 Premiere: Stars A.J. Cook And Kirsten Vangsness Say 'It's Gonna Ruffle Some Feathers'

'It's Gonna Ruffle Some Feathers'

"Criminal Minds" is back for Season 9 (premieres Wed., Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS) and this season sounds like it's gonna be a divisive one.

HuffPost TV sat down with stars A.J. Cook, who plays J.J., and Kirsten Vangsness, who plays Garcia, to hear about this much-hyped, controversial season.

"It's going to ruffle some feathers," Cook said of her storyline with their new section chief, played by Esai Morales, who her character has a past with.

Vangsness elaborated a bit more, saying that we'll see all the characters' origin stories -- something that sounded totally superhero-tastic, so of course, we went on a tangent about action figures and superhero costumes, which they totally have on under their normal clothes at all times. Totally.
