It's surprising that Crystal Reed stars on a show about werewolves and not, say, vampires, because in person she's so lovely she practically sparkles a la "Twilight." We couldn't be happier that she ended up on Teen Wolf, because the MTV drama is a fantastic must-see nail-biter and it wouldn't be the same without her.

We caught up with the up-and-coming actress right after the season three premiere to find out why she's excited for the new episodes and how it feels to act alongside such swoon-worthy boys (have you seen Dylan O'Brien?).

The "Teen Wolf" cast seems so cool! What's it like on set? It's really collaborative and supportive. We have a lot of fun. Everybody's laughing and joking. There are moments when we have to be really serious—a lot of moments actually—but it's great because all the actors are really giving and we make sure we're there for each other. Plus, everyone is super talented!

There are a bunch of super cute guys on the show. Is it like a boy's club on set?It is, definitely! The girls were definitely on the outside because there are so many guys on the show, but we have a lot of new girls this season and they're all really great. Super lovely! And Holland Roden and I have a lot of scenes together this season, so it's nice to work with her.

"Teen Wolf" is one of the smartest shows around. Do you watch anything else on TV?II don't really watch much! I'm really, really addicted to Homeland. It sounds so silly but I just don't have a lot of time to watch TV. It's so serialized that if I miss an episode, I can't keep up and then I have to watch five hours of the rest so I'd rather go to a movie and sit for two hours.

Do you want to do movies in the future?Yes, but it's hard because you have to find the roles that are filming within that period of time. Also, there are a lot of films right now in the same genre as Teen Wolf. If I was going to do a movie, I'd want to do something completely different. I'd love to do a romantic comedy. I don't really watch them and it's not really my thing, but I think I want to smile. Or even a dark comedy might be kind of fun. But I am about to finish a film called Too Late with John Hawkes—it's a film-noir, who-dun-it, and I'm excited for that.

What is the third season of "Teen Wolf" like?It is much more intense than any of the other seasons. The funny thing is I said that about season two, too, but then this completely blows it away. It's a little more grown-up which I like. We really want to look at the relationships in a more mature way.

Would you say you're similar to your character, personality-wise? I think I'm more similar than dissimilar. She's a bit more naïve at her age than I was at mine, coming from a small town. I think she definitely tries to find the good in people and will go out on a limb to do the right thing, and I'm like that. She's a hopeless romantic, which I am as well, to a fault!

What was high school like for you?High school was hard! I was friends with a bunch of different groups of people. I was the president of my drama club but also the captain of my dance team and I was in French...so I never really had a core group of people. I definitely didn't feel like I fit in anywhere.

Are you into social media?I'm really not good at it. I think this goes back to my high school days—I feel really awkward! I don't know where I fit in in the Twitter-sphere of things. I don't feel like people care what I've just eaten for dinner because I don't really think I'm that special. I do really like to tweet about things that I think are really important to me or things that I want to share that inspire me because I think that's great. I'm lucky that I have a platform to do it.
