"I intend to determine my self-worth by who I am, not the number on the scale." | Support Aevalle's Intent
We are a weight-obsessed nation. Count the number of people you know who are unhappy with their body, who are on a diet or who are spending hundreds of dollars on trying to achieve their "perfect" body. That number is probably quite high. While we should be concerned about our weight, the concern should be "Am I healthy?" and not "Am I fat?" Society and pop culture don't help us feel better about ourselves. We idolize Victoria's Secret models and we punish ourselves trying to achieve an unrealistic goal.
We need to help ourselves. We need to start loving ourselves. We need to stop tying our self-worth to our body issues. We are not just a number; we are people who are more than just our weight.
Positive goal setting is the key to achieving our ideal health and fitness levels. Remove the word "fat" from your vocabulary and replace it with "healthy." Find positive role models. Stop torturing your body. Setting unrealistic goals is just setting yourself up for failure. And last but not least remember that what happens on the outside does not change who you are on the inside.
