Daley Reveals Part Of Stimulus Projects Wish List

Mayor Daley on Monday outlined projects he would like to complete if funding is made available through President Obama's economic stimulation package.
The City Hall wish list includes improvements to:

-15 miles of public transit lines;
-200 Chicago schools;
-More than 150 miles of main streets;
-75 miles of sewer and water mains and bridges and viaducts.
The city also wants to expand broadband access to more than 22,000 homes, including 10,000 CHA units, and to weatherize thousands of homes for energy efficiency.
In addition, the city also wants to:
-Offer job training for nurses and health care workers;
-Provide tutoring and special education services for students and teacher training;
-Provide more Head Start programs and services;
-Offer more meals to children and seniors and
-Add new funding for police.
