They fell in love on the dance floor.
"Dancing with the Stars" has inspired its fair share of offstage relationships, but nothing comes close to Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd's romance. The Ukrainian dance champion proposed to Murgatroyd Saturday night during a performance at the Olympia Theater in Miami.
"I'm in love with you, and I will be in love with you for the rest of my life," Chmerkovskiy said, according to People.
Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd each uploaded photos of the engagement to Instagram later that night, revealing Peta's response to the surprise proposal.
"I said yes!!!!!! 💍 You have my heart forever my love. Love always wins," Murgatroyd wrote under a photo of the couple sharing a tender kiss.
Partial video of the proposal, posted by a witness who claimed to be sitting next to Chmerkovskiy's grandmother, quickly surfaced online.
The pair reportedly started dating in 2012.
Murgatoyd, who has clearly been practicing engagement ring poses in the mirror, showed off her new favorite accessory later that night at the Sway Alfalit Gala.
Chmerkovskiy was previously engaged to his "DWTS" co-star Karina Smirnoff, but the two parted ways in 2009.
All the best to the happy couple and their future children, who will have the most unpronounceable last name in the game.
