When it comes to bizarre celeb diets and wacky fitness regimens, we can't get enough. I was beyond thrilled to read last week in US Weekly that the way Madonna got those strong, sinewy arms was by simply flailing her arms straight across her body in a "smacking motion" - so easy!

Now rumors are swirling about something called the Def Jam Diet - according to New York Post's Page Six reports, when Beyonce gains weight, she turns to this mystery plan. Regarding her pregnancy:
"She has gained a lot of pregnancy weight," a source said. "When she gains weight, she normally does the Def Jam detox, but not now."

But Google search provided skimpy results. Just this morning the Huffington Post put out a call to readers, asking if they knew what it was. We rounded up a few experts for their take on just WTF is the DJD:

"I'm pretty sure it's a version of the Master Cleanse, which has a lot of traction in the music and acting communities. Robin Quivers from Howard Stern was on it for a while - it's got a big following in show business. Also the new album out by Dr. Dre is called Detox, though I can't imagine there's a link. [According to my research team], the Def Jam Detox is also known as "the liquid crack diet, 40s and weed" diet. But for some reason, I don't see Beyonce drinking 40s and smoking weed." -Jonny Bowden, PhD, board certified nutritionist and author of The Most Effective Natural Cures on Earth

"'Def jam' is just the hip rapper way to say Master Cleanse. We are still talking lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne. Glad she is not doing the detox if she is pregnant since babies need more balanced
nutrition to be healthy." - Dawn Jackson Blatner, RD, Chicago-based registered and licensed dietitian and national media spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association

"Offhand, I'd imagine it involves a Clockwork Orange-type aversive conditioning regimen --pictures of all your favorite foods and beverages paired with hip hop music played at ear-splitting volume; plus you have to eat jar after jar of raspberry jam until you throw up. Then you can't go near your favorites again for at least a few weeks." -Crabby McSlacker, Cranky Fitness

"The word 'detox' scares the heck out of me since it implies that our bodies are toxic. This is total nonsense and although we may have gained weight from eating unhealthy fried foods and high calorie desserts, our bodies are equipped with the world's most elaborate filtration and detox systems.....they are called the liver and the kidneys!" - Dr. Adam Shafran, Dr. Fitness from the Dr. Fitness and the Fat Guy radio show

"The Def Jam Detox is when you down a 40 of Pimp Juice, maple syrup and a dash of Salt N Pepa while dancing to American Gangster. Do that six times a day and the pounds melt off." - Lee Kantor, the Fat Guy from the Dr. Fitness and the Fat Guy radio show

"I'm guessing it's a liquid diet...mostly fruit and veggie juices (and booze)...where the only solid food permitted is jam." - Amanda Freeman, Co-founder of healthy living daily email, Vital Juice Daily.com

"So clearly, this Def Jam Diet is the culmination of the latest research in nutrition and physiology. The typical Hollywood diet of caffeine, cigarettes and clenbuterol is obviously unbalanced (they forgot the liquor!) and the ol' diet and exercise routine is as overdone as Lindsay Lohan's leggings. I'm guessing she subscribes to fellow Def Jam artist Mariah Carey's theory of only eating foods that are your favorite color. To see what kinds of foods the newly Mrs. Z would be allowed, I googled the question "What is Beyonce's favorite color?" Wikipedia answered for everyone: "Who cares?" -Charlotte Hilton Andersen, blogger, The Great Fitness Experiment

"Def Jam's detox/diet is much like many other extreme 'cleansing' regimens - no food, just liquids (lots of lemon juice) that cause you to lose water (and a lot of vitamins, minerals and important fats at the same time). The addition of cayenne pepper to create more heat in the body and slightly elevate metabolism, while adding honey or syrup to provide quick energy, makes it all the more faddish and inadvisable.

While Beyoncé may be pregnant, she may also just be going through a phase of less exercise and more eating! If she is pregnant, though, I do hope that she is not considering this unhealthy, extreme diet measure - it is far too harmful and not at all a sound approach to health or weight management." - Jackie Keller, the Founding Director of NutriFit, LLC, author of Body After Baby, A Simple, Healthy Plan to Lose Your Baby Weight Fast (Avery/Penguin Group; May 2007)

"Maybe it's the latest trend in fasting - a few days with water, lemon juice, maple syrup and of course jamming on your iPod." -Andrea Metcalf, NBC 5 Fitness Team member, Chicago, and host of Fit Today on CLTV

"The Def Jam diet is basically dancing 1 hour a day to 'Shake it Off' ... but it only works when you do the Young Jeezy extended remix to the Mariah Carey track." - lalate.com

"I'm picturing something involving lots of Cristal, running from angry West Coast rappers, cutting out all marijuana consumption to get rid of the munchies and wearing necklaces and pendants so large and heavy that every step is a workout. It's the opposite of the "50 Cent/LL Cool J/Dr. Dre Bulk Up." - My husband
