3 Kings Rev. Jim Benefit Part 3: Start the weekend off with some live music to benefit Jim Norris (owner of 3 Kings Tavern) -- Norris' nearly fatal spider-bite left him with huge medical bills and the music community has come together to support "Rev. Jim" during his recovery. Dutch Rudders, Calders Revolvers, Bonnie & The Beard and more play live.

Owen Benjamin at Comedy Works: Check out the comedy of Owen Benjamin -- he's been on Leno over 10 times and has his own Comedy Central Presents special as well as numerous movies and television appearances. His blend of music and jokes makes for an unforgettable show.

Sole at Larimer Lounge: Sole is one of the most prolific hip-hop artist's of our time and has been pushing the boundaries of what hip-hop can be for nearly 20 years -- one of the most exciting live performers around, Sole is a must-see.

The Descendents at Fillmore Auditorium: The Descendents have been playing fast, melodic punk rock since 1978 and, impossibly, they have only gotten more energetic live. Come see these rock legends play their nearly endless setlist of hits -- after the show drop by Illegal Pete's in Lodo for an after party where DJ Scooter James (of Tin Horn Prayer) will only be spinning Descendents, Hot Water Music and All jams.
Breckenridge's Snow Sculpture Championships: Teams from ten different countries have 65 hours to carve up 12-foot tall, 20-ton blocks of snow without using any power tools. Competition began Tuesday and the awards ceremony will be on Sunday, Jan. 29, but viewing is open to the public all week, and weekend, long. For more information check out GoBreck's Facebook page.
