Dogs, Cats, A Rabbit And A Guinea Pig Are Looking For New Homes

LOOK: This Dog Needs Your Help

WASHINGTON -- This is a good week to bring home a new friend.

Lots of area shelters and animal rescue groups are holding Black Friday adoption specials: Name your own adoption fee at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria this Friday for all animals at least six months old. At the Washington Animal Rescue League, dogs six months old and older will be available for half off the usual adoption fee; cats six months old and older will be available for $10.

At the Montgomery County Humane Society, adoption fees will be waived for all black cats, dogs and rabbits. And the Washington Humane Society is lowering adoption fees to $22 for all animals, until November 26.

Oldies But Goodies is holding a different sort of Black Friday special: $2 off bottles of Wigglebutt Wines; proceeds from the sales benefit the cocker spaniel rescue group.

Check out some of these furry guys and gals looking for new homes -- and let us know if you bring home a new pet this week!
