Ed Reed Says Tom Brady Kick Could Be To Blame For Offseason Hip Surgery (VIDEO)

'I Got Kicked By A Certain Quarterback'

Tom Brady did it, maybe.

While discussing a hip injury that required offseason surgery, Houston Texans safety Ed Reed (doesn't that sound weird?) could only think of one moment when he could have been hurt. It came in the AFC Championship game against the Patriots and involved Tom Brady.

"The only play I could look at is when I got kicked by a certain quarterback," Reed said with a smile on Tuesday referring to Brady, via the Associated Press. "But even then, I played in the Super Bowl and you saw what happened there."

In the second quarter of the AFC title game, Brady scrambled to his left and ran for three yards before sliding awkwardly. As Reed closed in on him during the slide, Brady extended his right foot and connected with the nine-time Pro Bowler's leg. Reed appeared to escape the dangerous play without injury. He would finish the game and play in the Ravens' Super Bowl win.

Not long after signing with the Texans in March, Reed underwent surgery on his hip.

"If you ask my trainer and ask my doctor, they can't believe where I'm at now," Reed said, per ESPN. "It's still a process. We want to be smart through it.
