Ellie Goulding Helps Gay Couple Have A Romantic Onstage Proposal

The men were rewarded with a huge hug from the star herself.

Ellie Goulding made a gay fan's dream come true at a California concert earlier this month when she helped him pop the question to his boyfriend.

Video footage of Goulding's April 6 performance at the SAP Center in San Jose shows the singer-songwriter taking a moment between songs to welcome the gay couple onstage.

"While I was singing that song, a gentleman was trying to tell me something, and I think I've got it right," Goulding said. She then told the couple, "The stage is yours!"

As one of the men dropped to one knee, the crowd erupted into applause. Shortly after the couple began to embrace one another, and Goulding joined in by wrapping her arms around the newly engaged duo.

The 29-year-old Grammy nominee, who is currently in the midst of her Delirium World Tour, has long been an advocate for the LGBT community. In 2014, she vowed not to perform in Russia, citing the country's controversial "gay propaganda" laws.

"Several of my favorite people in the whole world are gay and absolutely amazing," she told PrideSource in 2011. "I like how my gay fans are more in touch with their feelings. Some people say I've helped them through a breakup or my music makes them feel better about something or better about themselves or lifts them out of a bad mood -- and that's a nice thing to hear."

It's true that anything could happen at an Ellie Goulding show, but this is one moment we won't forget.
