Have you really “made it” in Hollywood if a random teenager doesn’t ask you to prom on the internet?

Emma Stone joined the ranks of celebrity women like Miley Cyrus, Khloe Kardashian, Selena Gomez and Kate Upton this week when Arizona teen Jacob Staudenmaier asked the Oscar winner to be his prom date in a “La La Land”-themed video.

The latest celebrity “promposal” video, of course, went viral, garnering tens of thousands of retweets and likes, which is apparently what it takes to get an actress like Stone to notice you.

Staudenmaier, who bears a striking resemblance to Stone’s “La La Land” co-star Ryan Gosling, visited “Good Morning America” on Friday to relay the actress’ response, which was a resounding thanks, but no thanks.

“Jacob, thanks for making the greatest proposal I have ever received. I can’t tell you what an honor that was and how much I smiled through that entire beautifully orchestrated video,” Stone wrote in a letter. “I’m in London working, but I hope you have the best time at prom, and I’m grateful you thought of me. Thank you. ”

Stone did, however, pay him the ultimate compliment, which should make high school slightly more bearable.

“P.S. I do see Gosling around the eyes,” she continued. “Love, Emma.”

As for Jacob, he says he’ll be going to prom solo and is looking forward to a night out with friends.
