Engagement Chicken: Valentine's Day Recipe (VIDEO)

WATCH: Could This Recipe Inspire Your Man To Pop The Question?

Hoping to get engaged this Valentine's Day? If so, head to the kitchen.

Legend has it that over 30 years ago, then-Glamour fashion editor Kim Bonnell gave this roast chicken recipe to her assistant, Kathy Suder. Just one month after Suder cooked the dish for her boyfriend, he proposed. Suder then gave the recipe to her female friends, and their boyfriends soon began popping the question, too. Given its apparent magic, Bonnell dubbed the dish "Engagement Chicken."

Since the story of the fabled recipe was republished in Glamour in January 2004, the magazine has received 21 letters from women who said that the meal led to their engagement.

Now, plenty of women are choosing to forgo busy Valentine's Day restaurants in favor of a quiet dinner of "Engagement Chicken" at home -- and the hope of a proposal.

Watch the video above to learn how to make "Engagement Chicken."
