WHO: Artist Kenny Scharf

WHAT: Naturafutura and Three Dozen!

WHEN: January 27 - February 26, 2011

293 Tenth Ave; 511 W. 27th Street, New York, New York

WHY:

Under-the-sea scenes merge with pop confections in a two-fold exhibition of new and iconic works by artist Kenny Scharf. Spanning both of Paul Kasmin Gallery's Chelsea locations, the dual exhibition presents Three Dozen! featuring more than 30 of the artist's iconic donut paintings, and Naturafutura, a new series of paintings featuring underwater scenes created in the artist's costal studio in Brazil. Among works to be presented is Oil Painting, further inspired by the BP oil spill which occurred while Scharf was working on the new series.
