For A Brief Moment, The Internet Was More Interested In Voter Registration Than Kim Kardashian

God bless America.
Unseated.
E!
Unseated.

Much like the fairies of the Peter Pan universe, Kim Kardashian’s life force depends almost entirely on the attention of millions of people legitimizing her existence in unison.

“I do believe in waist trainers. I do, I do ... “

But for a brief moment during the final night of the Democratic National Convention, Google searches for “register to vote” surpassed “Kim Kardashian," in what may be the most formative event in modern American history.

According to Google Trends, for a few short minutes on Thursday night, people everywhere became more invested in the future of our great nation than the bane of Taylor Swift’s existence.

Financial Times’ social media editor Jake Grovum was first to notice the trend, tracking searches on Google in the U.S. and worldwide.

But to be clear, individual searches for presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton during the DNC far outranked interest in Kardashian, who previously voiced her support for Clinton in a GQ profile in June.

Let freedom reign (Disick).
