A University of Florida student from Miami went missing Thursday, and police suspect foul play.

18-year-old UF freshman Christian Aguilar was last seen around 6 p.m. last Thursday more than three miles from his Springs Complex dormitory. There, Gainesville Police say, the Doral Academy valedictorian was allegedly involved in an altercation with 18-year-old Pedro A. Bravo. The Gainesville Sun reports the incident was about a woman with whom both were involved.

The conflict reportedly left Aguilar severely injured. Bravo was brought in for questioning, named a person of interest, and is currently being held in accordance with Florida's Baker Act statute after making threats against his own life.

Aguilar's father and other relatives are in Gainesville searching for Aguilar, assisted by Central Florida Search and Rescue.

"Help me, help me for my son," Carlos Aguilar told NBC 6 South Florida. "I want to find him, he's still alive."

Aerial and ground searches conducted by the Gainesville and UF police have not yielded any further details on the whereabouts of Aguilar who, according to investigators, has a history of depression.
