FX Network Splitting Into Two Channels, One Targeting Younger Viewers (REPORT)

FX Splitting Into Two Networks?

FX could become two different channels, one targeting millennials with a comedy focus, according to Broadcasting and Cable.

The new report claims that Fox is poised to keep FX as the home to dramas like "Justified" and "American Horror Story," with a new channel, possibly titled FX2 or FXX, becoming the home for younger-skewing comedies like "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." Movies of the appropriate genre would supplement the programming on the two FX networks.

"We are constantly evaluating our programming offerings and this is just one notion we have considered over the past year or so," a representative for Fox told The Huffington Post in an email statement.

The Los Angeles Times reports the second FX channel would replace the Fox Soccer Channel and Speed would become a national sports network. According to the LA Times, the plans are still in the preliminary stages.
