'Game Of Thrones' Ratings Hit Series High For Season 3 Premiere

'Game Of Thrones' Ratings Hit Series High

"Game Of Thrones" returned with a ratings vengeance Sunday night. The premiere of "Thrones" Season 3 attracted 4.4 million viewers in its initial 9 p.m. airing, making it the most-watched episode in series' history, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The numbers are up from "Thrones" Season 2 premiere and finale, which notched 3.9 and 4.2 million viewers respectively.

Including two replays after the initial airing, "Game Of Thrones" nabbed 6.7 million total viewers.

The strong "Thrones" show is even more impressive considering that it was going up against the Season 3 finale of AMC's ratings powerhouse "The Walking Dead," and an Easter Sunday presentation of History's "The Bible."
