Man Arrested For Allegedly Threatening Florida Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite

SPRING HILL, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say they arrested a man accused of threatening U.S. Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite.

On Sunday, FBI agents and Hernando County deputies arrested 66-year-old Erik Lawrence Pidrman in connection with the threat.

He faces a charge of threatening to assault or murder a U.S. official.

Authorities say the Brooksville Republican's office received a "telephonic threat" on March 25 from an unidentified male. Brown-Waite contacted the Capitol Police and the Hernando County Sheriff after receiving the message.

A judge set Pidrman's bond at $20,000, but he must meet conditions to be released.

The investigation is ongoing.

Pidrman's attorney didn't immediately return a telephone message left at his office during business hours.
