'Girls' Map Of New York City: Where To Find Lena Dunham And Crew (MAP)

A 'Girls' Map Of NYC

You've probably seen the fliers around New York already. Girls-- Lena Dunham's HBO series that the internet can't stop talking about-- is filming on your block. You can't park here.

Of course, Dunham says New York City is one of the main characters of the show, which is now shooting its second season (and casting not just white hipsters this time). In one of the series' best moments thus far, Dunham's character looks in the mirror and exclaims, "You are from New York, therefore you are just naturally interesting!"

It makes sense, then, that WNYC and The Guardian have partnered to help track the show's movements across our city. If you recognize a setting, email girlsmapped@wnyc.org and they'll include. For example, when Booth Jonathan tells Marnie that when he sleeps with her, "I might scare you a little because I’m a man, and I know how to do things," they are on the High-Line. Duh. (So much romance happens on the High-Line.)

It says something of the show's popularity that it has joined "Mad Men" in receiving its own crowdsourced map. Who knows, maybe Bloomberg sometime in the future will declare a "Girls Day".
