Glenn Sharpe Murder Charges: Ex-Miami Football Player Arrested

Former Miami Football Player Arrested For Murder

Glenn Sharpe, a former cornerback for the University of Miami football team, was arrested in Georgia and charged with the Feb. 2, 2012 murder of Christopher Galloway, CBS Miami reports.

The 27-year-old, who earned himself a Super Bowl ring with the New Orleans Saints as a practice squad player, is reportedly accused of shooting Galloway three times in Stone Mountain, Ga.

He was arrested Thursday afternoon at his Lawrenceville home and is being held in DeKalb County Jail, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Sharpe started his NFL career in 2008 when he was signed by the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent.

He is widely known for committing a crucial pass interference penalty against Ohio State in the 2003 BCS Championship Game.

Sharpe was previously arrested and charged with drug possession in 2010.
