Jesus Will 'Overrule' SCOTUS And Throw Gays Into Hell, Pundit Claims

Former Navy chaplain Gordon "Chaps" Klingenschmitt slammed the U.S. Supreme Court's 2013 rulings on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and California's Prop 8 in a broadcast of his "Pray In Jesus Name" program.

No stranger to anti-gay proclamations, Klingenschmitt was reacting specifically to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals striking down Utah's ban on same-sex marriage, Right Wing Watch first reported. Regardless of what courts rule, he suggested, Jesus Christ will eventually rule against marriage equality and other rights pertaining to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community.

"Jesus, as the judge, will overrule the Supreme Court," Klingenschmitt said, "and what will he do with these two men? It'll be printed in Heaven's newspaper in 100 years that God throws them into Hell."

Earlier this year, Klingenschmitt commended Colorado bakery owner Jack Phillips for his controversial refusal to make a wedding cake for a gay couple.

"There is a demonic spirit that is influencing some of the lawmakers, not just the gay couple...of course they want to parade and celebrate their sodomy, but they also want to force a Christian to do that," Klingenschmitt said at the time.

He could also be on his way to becoming a Colorado state legislator. Last month, he won a Republican primary with 52 percent of the vote, and will face Democrat Lois Fornander to represent Colorado's 15th state House District, which is located near Colorado Springs, in November.
