Fairfax District Shops and Restaurants

PHOTOS: Your Guide To The Fairfax District

That stretch of Fairfax Boulevard in between Melrose Avenue and Beverly Boulevard is stuffed with kosher grocery stores, judaica shops, and strange little storefronts specializing in persian carpets and luggage. But did you also know it has some of Los Angeles' major thrift stores, a bunch of outlets for skaterboy (and girl) sneakers, and some of the best Jewish bakeries in Los Angeles? So the next time you're in the neighborhood, perhaps after browsing the wares at Melrose Trading Post, turn left and take a stroll down Fairfax for good eats and something new for your feet.
