'Thelma and Louise Bandits' Scared Away By A Lion

A pair of 19-year-old lesbian lovers nicknamed "Thelma and Louise" by police face charges for allegedly burglarizing more than two dozen homes, including one they say they fled after being greeted by a lion.

Police say Britney Singleton and Harley Gifford spent the summer hitting homes in the suburban Philadelphia area, stealing everything from iPods to religious statues to condoms, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

According to authorities, the women told investigators that they entered one home but were scared away by a lion. Police have gone to investigate the lion claim but no one was home at the residence.
