Harry Potter, Landlord? Actor Lists $4.3 Million NYC Condo For Rent

When the final book in the Harry Potter series came out last summer, a stretch of Mercer Street in Lower Manhattan was closed off and turned into "Harry Potter Place," a spot to celebrate the magical Harry, where scores of children wrote personal messages on a "Muggle board" outside the offices of Scholastic Inc., the book's American publisher.

Now Daniel Radcliffe, the actor who has played Harry Potter in all five movies based on the books so far, has bought a place of his own on Mercer Street, an apartment bought for nearly $4.3 million last month at the 13-story glass-walled condominium designed by the architect Jean Nouvel at 40 Mercer Street, just a few blocks away.
