If you have a bone to pick with the way Heidi Klum‘s daughters dress, save it — she’s not interested.
The German-born supermodel has opened up to Elle about being mommy-shamed because her two daughters, 14-year-old Leni and 8-year-old Lou, occasionally wear high heels while out in public. The girls’ father is the singer Seal, with whom Klum also has two sons, Henry and Johan.
“People get upset, especially in Germany, if they see my daughters wearing high heels,” Klum, who is currently dating Tokio Hotel rocker Tom Kaulitz, told the magazine. “Big deal!”
“If we go to a restaurant, they like to get dressed up. It’s fun for them. So what if they hobble on their little heels for 20 steps from the car to the restaurant? As long as they’re good kids and they get good grades, they can wear what they want to wear.”
Klum was herself mom-shamed recently when she shared a revealing selfie on Instagram. Many critics suggested that it was inappropriate for a mother of four to pose provocatively.
While the supermodel isn’t looking for unsolicited advice about her own family’s fashion, she does have some thoughts about what the first lady wears.
“She’s chic, but I would do without the hat,” she told Elle of Melania Trump’s meme-worthy Hervé Pierre hat from April.
