In Case Of Game 7, Call Henrik Lundqvist

In Case Of Game 7, Call This Goalie

King Henrik rules Game 7.

In yet another win-or-go-home game, New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist delivered yet another incredible performance. Lundqvist saved 35 of the 36 shots the Pittsburgh Penguins sent his way at CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh on Tuesday as the Rangers finished off a stunning series comeback with a 2-1 win. After trailing the Penguins 3-1 in their Eastern Conference semifinal series in the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Rangers reeled off two wins to force a Game 7.

The series-clinching win over Pittsburgh gave Lundqvist an NHL-record five straight Game 7 wins and sent the Rangers to the Eastern Conference finals for the second time in three years. He is just the fourth goaltender in NHL history with five career Game 7 wins. In his six career Game 7 appearances, Lundqvist has a 5-1 record with a 1.00 goals-against average and .961 save percentage, according to NHL.com. The 32-year-old needs one more career Game 7 victory to tie the all-time career leaders in the category, Patrick Roy and Martin Brodeur.
