Hillary Clinton: Someone In Pakistan's Government Knows Whereabouts Of Bin Laden (VIDEO)

Following her weekend visit to Pakistan, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says she believes "elements" of the Pakistani government know the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden.

In an interview with Fox News host Greta van Susteren, Clinton said she believed Pakistani government officials know bin Laden's location as well as that of his top deputy, Ayman Al-Zawahiri. Speaking from Afghanistan, she also stressed the continued difficulty in the hunt for bin Laden, as those with that knowledge would likely not be from the top levels of the country's government but possibly from "the bowels" of the bureaucracy.

"If there were a terrorist somewhere in a remote place in the United States, some sheriff, some local state policeman, somebody in our collective government would probably know there was something suspicious going on," said Clinton, speaking from Afghanistan. "I assume somebody in this [Pakistani] government from top to bottom does know where bin Laden is, and I'd like to know, too."

A stronger relationship between the U.S. and Pakistan, Clinton noted, had already resulted in the capture of several key al Qaeda officials. To those who say they are concerned about additional U.S. financial aid in Pakistan, she said that relationship will even have "long-term benefits" for the troubled U.S. economy as well.

"We've created a much closer, cooperative relationship between the United States and Pakistan in going after what are now common enemies," she said. As for bin Laden's capture, she added, "I don't want to put a proximity or timeline on it ... but I won't be satisfied until we get [him]."
