Outfest, the Los Angeles-based organization dedicated to nurturing, showcasing and protecting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) films, presented the Fusion LGBT People of Color Film Festival on March 22 and 23. Some of the highlights included the soon-to-be-released action comedy Hot Guys With Guns (written and directed by Doug Spearman of Noah's Arc fame), The DL Chronicles and many other shorts and feature films. This year's Fusion Achievement Award went to writer-director Angela Robinson, who holds the distinction of being the first out lesbian to direct a Disney family comedy. Her list of credits includes the feature films D.E.B.S. and Herbie Fully Loaded and successful television series such as The L Word, Hung and True Blood. Presenting Angela with the award were her True Blood colleagues Rutina Wesley ("Tara") and Kristin Bauer ("Pam").
