The death of one solider and the rescue of another were incidentally captured by a freelance journalist who could not give his name, for fear of official harassment.

The situation is quite sad and should never have happened. Chinese messages boards are filled with comments lamenting the lack of values placed on human lives...by whom? No one says.

It is nonetheless quite inspiring seeing the second solider clinging on to his drowning colleague's hand and the third solider courageously running towards a clearly dangerous and risky situation in order to save his two struggling comrades!!
