Howard Stern On The New Fans He's Picked Up Thanks To 'America's Got Talent' (VIDEO)

Howard Stern dropped by "Late Night" and talked about how much fun he's having as a judge on "America's Got Talent." But all the new attention he's had on the family-friendly series has led to an unexpected phenomenon. "You know, it's unbelievable. I go into restaurants now, and little 5-year-old kids, 6-year-old kids, they're like, 'There's Howard!'" Stern said. "It's like I'm a muppet."

It's certainly a younger demographic than he's usually reached with his radio show. "I'm like Santa Claus at the mall, the women want to put their kids on my lap," Stern laughed.

In his second year, the NBC talent show got an injection of new blood with the additions of Mel B and Heidi Klum on the judging panel. Stern poked fun at his fellow judges, saying that Klum wasn't watching him on "Late Night. She's doing "God knows what" with her boyfriend and hiding from her kids, according to Stern. At one point he even said that the new additions "don't matter." Being more serious, though, he said that they're a lot of fun.

Stern said that "AGT" is better than ever this year, but that's not translating into more viewers. The latest season is bringing in the lowest ratings in the show's history. That said, it's still a hit, winning Tuesday nights and even beating the darling of the regular season, "The Voice."

Catch Howard Stern on "America's Got Talent" at its earlier 8 p.m. ET time this Tuesday before it settles back into its usual Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET slot next week on NBC. "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" airs every weeknight at 12:37 a.m. ET on NBC.
