With marriage equality a hot topic in politics and the new media, it seems that everyone, and I mean everyone, has an opinion on same-sex marriage and the LGBT community, from religious zealots who believe that homosexuality goes against God to right-wing Republicans who believe that homosexuality will destroy American values that have been around since the country's conception (as if the Salem witch trials, slavery, sexism and class war were all positives in our value system). One of my favorite homophobic misconceptions is the belief that hanging out with or being around gay people can, and will, turn you gay. You would be surprised by how many Americans believe that this is not a myth but scientific fact.

So I decided to test this myth by hanging out with one of the best-looking and gayest couples on the planet: Lance Bass, formerly of 'N Sync, and his fiancé, Michael Turchin. They are both very handsome, very charming, very artistic and very gay, and if spending the day with them can't turn me gay, then nothing can.
