Idris Elba has a lot to think about before Sunday night's Golden Globes. After all, being nominated for two different projects can be stressful.
The British actor sat down with Chelsea Handler on "Chelsea Lately" to talk about the logistics of being nominated for both "Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom" and "Luther." He won his first Golden Globe in 2012, also for "Luther."
Asked if he was nervous considering all of the embarrassment he would face if he were to lose, Elba replied, "The problem is there's two tables to sit on: there's a Mandela table and there's a Luther table. So, since I already won at the Luther table, I was going to sit at the Mandela table. But if I don't win that, I'm gonna run back to the Luther table and just be like, 'Hey, sorry about that, guys. I got this one.'"
Juggling too many honors, though, is a great problem to have.
Elba admits that he should probably start preparing a speech in case he wins Best Actor for his work in "Mandela." "I've got to think about a speech, because you play someone like Nelson Mandela, you have to say something really important if you win," he explained.
Elba clearly enjoyed his time on the comedian's late night talk show. He even took the time to snap a photo of himself with Handler and Chuy Bravo:
