In the Closet...Still!

Until the current administration puts its foot down and deep-sixes this idiotic policy, hats off to John for reminding us that sometimes laughter can take the sting away.

About a year ago, I posted a link here to a musical "video op-ed" on YouTube created by my pal, musician John Forster, whose talent for sharp and timely comedy is matched only by his doggedness in fighting the good fight. The video focused on the spooky nature of the banking industry, and its wry and funny spin was the perfect antidote to the more sobering aspects of the nation's financial meltdown at that time.

Well, John's up to his old (hilarious) tricks again (click below), this time going after America's mind-bogglingly dumb "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, which continues to bar openly gay men and women from serving in the U.S. military (this despite numerous national polls that reveal the law's ever-plummeting support among everyday citizens). Until the current administration puts its foot down and deep-sixes this idiotic policy, hats off to John for reminding us that sometimes laughter can take the sting away. For a moment, at least.

In the Closet was written by John Forster and sung by Harrison White. The full version is on the CD Helium (Philo Records).
