There once was a union maid,
Who found herself betrayed
By sharps and clowns in Madison town
Who decided that they'd degrade her trade.
They called it a modest bill,
As they moved in for the kill,
And when the cameras turned away,
You'd always hear them say:
"We're the GOP, let's stick it to the unions!

It's so clear to see,
They'll stick it to the unions,
They'll stick it to the unions,
Leave 'em high and dry.
Now this union maid said "Hey!
That's not Wisconsin's way!
The working man gets an honest plan,
And the workers deserve a say on pay."
But the governor, he said "Nuts!
You haven't got the guts,
It's time to chain your gravy train,"
And this was his refrain:
"We're the GOP, we stick it to the unions!
We stick it to the unions!
We stick it to the unions!
On to vic...to...ry,
Just stick it to the unions!
Just stick it to the unions!
Squeeze 'em till they cry."
Now the working folks have friends,
And the battle never ends,
So they built a throng fifty-thousand strong
And they promised that they'd upend the trends.
It's a war they didn't choose,
But they can't afford to lose,
So they fight the fights many days and nights
To protect all workers' rights.
From the GOP, who'll stick it to the unions,
Who'll stick it to the unions,
(And not just to the unions),
They're the GOP,
They stick it to the unions,
They'll stick it to the unions --
Or at least they'll try.
