In the food business 'history' can mean surviving for even a few years. But for Streit's Matzo, their history on New York's Lower East Side goes back 90 years. Their factory still runs on some original 1920's equipment and if you walk by while they are processing you can even grab some hot matzo out of the oven.

In the food business 'history' can mean surviving for even a few years. But for Streit's Matzo, their history on New York's Lower East Side goes back 90 years. Their factory still runs on some original 1920's equipment and if you walk by while they are processing you can even grab some hot matzo out of the oven.

But like all good things, this too must come to an end. Due to changing times, costs and space restraints Streit's is moving the factory to New Jersey. After this year's Passover the old factory will cease production and new equipment will be purchased to start a new chapter.
