Breaking Bad, college edition?

Irina Kristy, a math professor who works at both Boston University and Suffolk University, has been accused of running a meth lab with her son, 29-year-old Grigory Genkin. The two were allegedly running the lab from their second-floor apartment. Genkin was charged last month.

On November 7, a bomb squad removed several materials "believed to be hazardous" from the apartment.

The Boston Globe has more:

Kristy continues to teach full time at Boston University, but she was placed on administrative leave at Suffolk University last week.

A lecturer in the math department at BU since 1987, Kristy teaches three courses each semester, said school spokesman Colin Riley on Friday.

Riley said he could not comment further on Kristy’s employment with the school because he said it is a personnel matter.

On the professor assessment website Ratemyprofessors.com, Kristy was generally rated poorly. She had an overall rating of 1.9 out of 5. One student was positive however and noted, "I LOVE HER 5 OUTFIT CHOICES!!!! and especially when she gets chalk all over it :] she's not aware of her surroundings because she almost tripped over a ball. but i love her accent!"
